About the dish

From the Black Sea region of Adjara, this open-faced bread is shaped like a small boat to honor the sea. Filled with a generous melt of sulguni and imeruli cheese, finished at the table with a slab of butter and a fresh egg yolk you stir into the cheese before tearing pieces of crust to dip.
